A while back, I received an email from Bright Tech asking me if I was interested in sampling one of their lamps and writing a review about it. They let me shop their entire website and choose whichever lamp I preferred. It was not an easy task! As a DIYer, I saw lamps that I could decorate, as a decorator, there were lamps I loved for all sorts of spaces in my home. But, as a crafter, my first choice was a no-brainer: the Light View Rolling Base Magnifying Lamp.
Description from Bright Tech:
Big, Bright Magnifying Light to See Small Details Easily
The Brightech Lightview Pro Dimmable LED Magnifying Floor lamp was designed to ease your close up focus, even with vision problems such as aging eyes or macular degeneration.
This lamp boasts the largest authentic diopter glass magnifier lens available, 4.5″ wide, with a 15 inch+ focal range. The 3 diopter glass will magnify whatever you are working on up to 175%. It won’t get hot so you can enjoy your hobbies comfortably.
I love a lot of things about this lamp! First, it came in a box with only 3 pieces to assemble. I had it put together in 5 minutes. Second, it has wheels, so I can easily move it from my studio, to my office, to my living room or my bedroom to use it in a variety of ways. Third, it is a crafter’s dream.
It has really powerful LED lights and it’s dimmable so you can choose how much light you need. It also has a warmth control – so if you are using it for photography you can choose the warmth of the lighting. If you are a blogger or involved in any social media marketing, this is a really important feature. The lamp has a lot of flexibility for angles and heights so if you are working at a table, a counter, sitting, standing, it doesn’t matter. The lamp (and magnifying lens) can be adjusted in so many different ways. And saving the best for last: the magnifying lens. OMG it is incredible! It is a big lens and magnifies 175x! That in combination with the bright light makes crafting fine projects a dream. Intricate beading, or knitting or crochet lace, or any other fine hand work is an absolute pleasure with this lamp. I think it is an amazing tool.
I often like to craft in the evenings while on the couch with my family while we watch TV. As many crafters know, this is a real challenge. Everyone wants dim lighting for best TV viewing and the crafter needs great lighting. I’ve tried other lamps but they often spread too much light for the rest of the family. Because I can angle this lamp into my lap, the light stays only where I need it. I used to avoid dark colored yarn for evening craft time, but not any more! I can work with the finest of yarns, the darkest of colors, and with my Bright Tech’s Light View Rolling Base Magnifying Lamp there is nothing I can’t craft in low light!
