How to Make Miso Broth for Steamed Dumplings
Cooking a healthy, budget-friendly dinner is really important to me. Making it in under 20 minutes is not always possible, but certainly a bonus when I can!
This dinner meets all the criteria! I cook the salmon from freezer to table in about 20 minutes, and prepare the rest of the meal simultaneously while the salmon is cooking.
Take your frozen salmon filets and put them in a preheated 350 degree oven with a splash of teriyaki sauce over the top. After 15 minutes, turn on the broiler and let them cook 5 more minutes.
Meanwhile, on the stove mix together 4 cups of water with 4 TBSP miso paste, 1 tsp dashi powder, 2 chopped green onions and the juice of 2 small lemons. Bring to a simmer and add your frozen dumplings. Continue to simmer while the dumplings steam, about 15 minutes.
Throw together your favorite salad (we love arugula tossed in equal parts balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese).
