Thanks to social media, I met the owner of Criativity Alicia Chivers, through my Facebook professional page! She contacted me about carrying Kristin Omdahl Yarns (Be So Fine and Be So Sporty) in her shop. Because the shop is only a few hours from my home, we agreed that I would come to the shop for a trunk show and meet & greet event.
The event was so well received! I displayed all sorts of knit and crochet samples in both Be So Fine and Be So Sporty Yarns. And, I brought my coloring books, art canvases, project bags and solid body lotions. I met so many wonderful customers, some of whom watched me on Knitting Daily TV for years. And I met lots of customers who love my yarns. I got to answer all sorts of questions about knitting, crochet, swatching, measuring gauge, you name it! I'm looking forward to going back to teach in the near future.
Criativity is a really unique store. Not only do they have all kinds of beautiful boutique yarns, but they also make their own! I got to see their yarn in several stages of being made, including the carding stage. They also carry lots of unique gifts! I am kicking myself for not buying a few! And, they import some really cool products from Peru that are all fair trade.
I was so busy at the event that I didn't take many photos, but I did snap a few of the gifts I want to buy the next time I visit:
From the top: alpaca fur alpaca and teddy bear stuffed animals; felted bird houses; felted alpaca finger puppet, fabric doll and alpaca fur pillow.
And here are a few photos of my display, before the excitement began:
