Green Pina Colada Smoothie FREE Recipe


My definition of "breakfast of champions" sure has changed over the years. In my twenties I defined it as a super big gulp of coca cola and a bag of beef jerky at 7-11. In my thirties, it was high protein low carb so lots of eggs and bacon and cheese. Now in my 40s, I'm definitely more plant based, more conscious of where my food comes from, and very aware of the benefits of each ingredient.

I have a focus on anti-inflammatory ingredients because I suffer from chronic back pain (from multiple old injuries including cliff diving). Another story for another day. But, eating anti-inflammatory foods helps my pain management SO MUCH! It feels like a miracle to me.

Here is a simple recipe for a breakfast smoothie I drink several times a week:

Green Pina Colada Smoothie FREE Recipe

1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1 banana
1-1/2 cups spinach
1 tsp coconut oil
1 TBSP chia seeds
1/2 cup kefir
1-1/2 cups water

NOTE: I don't like my smoothies super cold, so I don't add ice. But you can add a few cubes if you like.

Blend all together and enjoy!
