Be So Wild Crochet Boa Fur Stitch Scarf FREE Pattern

Be So Wild Crochet Boa Fur Stitch Scarf FREE Pattern
by Kristin Omdahl

Fur stitch is such a fabulous and deceptively simple crochet stitch that is perfect for showing off gorgeous, textured yarn. Be So Wild Yarn is a one-of-a-kind novelty yarn that Kristin Omdahl makes in her Florida studio. She combines ribbon, mohair, sparkly and sequin yarns together, then wraps them together with a silk thread to make a super bulky yarn.

Watch the tutorial video on Kristin’s YouTube Channel here:

1 (2) balls Be So Wild Yarn; super bulky weight yarn;
60 yds per 2.5oz ball
N/13 (9mm) crochet hook

Gauge: not critical for this project

Finished size: one ball make a collar/cowl 24” long and 2 balls makes a scarf 48” long
Specialty Stitches:

Fur Stitch: Insert hook in ch or st, wrap yarn around index or middle finger of left hand (whichever you prefer) so you have one thread of the loop in front of the finger and one thread of the loop behind the finger, swing hook over front thread from left to right clockwise, using hook grab both threads of the loop (two strands hooked) and pull through st, drop loop to backside, yarn over hook and draw through remaining loops on hook (1 loop at back side of work and 1 sc made).

NOTE: This project is worked in a spiral round (no joining at end of rounds). Please watch my tutorial video to learn more about how to make this quick and fun scarf!

Round 1: Ch11, slst in first ch to join in a round. Ch1, work a fur stitch in first ch. *Fur st in next ch. Rep from * 9 more times. This is the end of the round, but do not join. The second round will just begin (in a spiral).

Round 2: Work a fur stitch in the back loop of every stitch around, do not join. — 11 fur stitches TBL only.

Rep round 2 until you run out of yarn.

NOTE: If you are using one ball, your boa will be long enough for a cowl or collar. If you are using 2 balls, your boa will be long enough for a scarf length.

Hand wash, block to finished measurements and let dry. Weave in loose ends.

Thank you for choosing to knit and crochet Kristin Omdahl patterns!
I know that you have thousands of choices for buying yarn and body care products. I want you to know what makes MY products special, and feel good about shopping the Kristin Omdahl brand.
Kristin Omdahl products have a heart! That’s right, a portion of every sale supports the charity I established: Project Kristin Cares.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, a hugely hidden problem in our society. You, or someone you know, has been affected by it, or is still suffering now. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men have been victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes.
But because it is so rarely discussed, I always felt like I was alone. One of the worst parts for me was that feeling of loneliness and having a dirty secret that had to be hidden.
Through my charity, Project Kristin Cares, we can make a difference in the lives of people who have been affected by domestic violence. I want to share the message that victims are not at fault, not alone and should not be embarrassed to share their stories.
Kristin Omdahl products are beautiful, thoughtful and valuable. But even more importantly, every time you purchase a product from my company, a portion of the sale supports
Project Kristin Cares. Please help me knock out domestic violence, one sale at a time.
xoxo, Kristin
