We’ve arrived at the final chapter of the Sea Glass Secrets Mystery Crochet-Along! ✨
Over the past few weeks, we’ve stitched together a collection of motifs—star, dragonfly, sailboat, flower, and sea turtle—each one inspired by themes from my novel The Sea Glass Journal. Just as Tess pieces together her past to create a new beginning, we’ve brought together individual symbols into something greater than the sum of its parts.
In this final part, we’ll assemble all of your finished motifs and complete the shawl with a graceful edging. The joining stitches and border frame your motifs like sea glass set into driftwood, transforming small fragments into a stunning heirloom piece.
This is where all your work comes together—your story stitched into a shawl.

Assembly:
With Color B, seam motifs together into 3 rows of 3 squares each, then seam rows together.
Recommended method: Whipstitch with a yarn needle, or slip stitch crochet seam if you prefer.
Orientation tip: Be sure Dragonfly Squares are oriented with wings horizontal before joining. This ensures the final layout matches the design.
Work slowly and check alignment after each row to keep edges even.
Fasten off securely and weave in ends.
Entire Shawl Edging:
Round 1: Join yarn with slst to any st around, ch1, (sc, ch3, 3dc-cl, ch3, slst) in same st, 1sc in ea of next 2 sts, *(sc ch3, 3dc-cl, ch3, slst) in next st, 1sc in ea of next 2 sts. Rep from * around, except in corners, omit 2sts to create increases in the corners. Slst to top of first sc at beg of round to join. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
