What you will need:
- 215 (235, 260, 286) yds or 197.5 (214.9, 237.7, 261.5)m #4 worsted weight yarn, in one color
or
175 (190, 210, 231) yds or 160 (173.7, 192, 211.2)m #4 worsted weight yarn in color A
and - 40 (45, 50, 55) yds or 36.6 (41.4, 45.7, 52.3)m #4 worsted weight yarn in color B
- J/10 (6mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Finished Sizes:
15 (18, 21, 24) in or 38.1 (45.7, 53.3, 61)cm circumference.
6 (8, 9, 10) in or 15.2 (20.3, 22.9, 25.4)cm tall.
Shown in size 24 in (61cm) circumference.
Gauge:
13 sts / 11 rounds = 4 in (10cm) in cable stitch pattern, after blocking.

Crown:
Note: End crown at round 5 (6, 7, 8) for respective sizes.
Ch5, slst to 5th ch from hook to form ring.
Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 9dc in ring, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 10 dcs
Round 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), fpdc around first st, *dc in next st, fpdc around same st. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 20 dcs
Round 3: Ch3 (counts as dc), fpdc around first st, fpdc around next st, *dc in next st, fpdc around same st, fpdc around next st. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 30 dcs
Round 4: Ch3 (counts as dc), fpdc around first st, fpdc around ea of next 2 sts, *dc in next st, fpdc around same st, fpdc around ea of next 2 sts. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 40 dcs

Brim:
Note: Change to color B if desired, or continue in same color.
Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1fpdc around post of ea of next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1fpdc around post of ea of next 2 sts, 1dc in ea of next 2 sts, 1fpdc around post of ea of next 2 sts. *1dc in next st, dc in next st, skip 4 sts, fptr around post of ea of next 2 sts, working behind last 2 sts made, 1dc in 3rd and 4th skipped sts, working in front of last 4 sts, fptr in posts of 1st and 2nd skipped sts. Rounds 2 – 3: Rep round 1.
Round 4: Slst loosely in ea st around. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
