Tender Leif Basketweave Wrap with Fringe Easy Knit FREE Pattern
By Kristin Omdahl
This wrap really accentuates the gorgeous thick/thin texutre of the organic cotton yarn in simple stitches. Alternating between stockinette and reverse stockinette squares for a simple and elegant basket weave is not only easy and relaxing to knit but makes a knockout wrap! Adding the twisted fringe adds a pop of rustic flair that melts my heart. It is SO SOFT and comforting against your skin – I could wear this every day. This is a unisex pattern – it is equally gorgeous on a woman as it is striking on a man. Perfect for a special gift!

Fringe: cut 112 pieces of yarn 14″ long. Using 2 strands at a time, evenly attach fringe to narrow edges of wrap with a slip knot. You should have approx 28 fringes across each side (4 fringes per basketweave square).
WIth fringe twister, attach two strands of each fringe in each of 2 clamps. Twist 14 times. Remove fringe without letting the twist go, and tie all 4 strands of the fringe together in a knot, leaving as little of yarn left over as possible (approx 1/2″). The two sets of twists will twist on each other again for a doubled twist. Repeat for each 4-strand fringe. With sharp scissors trim the edges of each fringe. Add a few drops of fray check for the raw edges.
