Grace Tender Baby Blanket and Hat Easy FREE Crochet Patterns

This is an adorable set of blanket and hat for a new baby. The raised floral detail on the hat perfectly matches the raised floral motif in the center of the blanket. Made in 100% certified organic cotton, #4 worsted weight yarn, it is super soft and baby friendly, works up quickly – and is safe to wash in the washing machine on delicate cycle in a lingerie bag.
What you will need:
(5) balls of Be So Tender Yarn; 100% certified organic cotton, #4 worsted weight yarn; 140 yds (130m) per 3.5oz (100g); color shown is Cloud
H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
Gauge: 2.5 double crochet = 1″
note: gauge is important for hat, but not critical for blanket
Finished size:
Hat: 13″ circumference x 4.5″ tall
Blanket: 48″ diameter, star shaped
Instructions:
HAT:
Round 1: ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook, slst to first sc at beg of round to join. — 8 scs
Round 2: ch1, 2sc in ea st around, slst to first sc at beg of round to join. — 16 scs
Round 3: ch1, sc in same st, *ch3, skip 1 sc, sc in next st. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round. — 8 ch3 sps
Round 4: slst into first ch3 sp, ch1, (sc, ch1, dc, ch2, dc, ch1, sc) in same ch3 sp. *(sc, ch1, dc, ch2, dc, ch1, sc) in next ch3 sp. Rep from * around. — 8 ch2 sps
NOTE: Round 5 is worked BEHIND round 4.
Round 5: sc in sp between first and last sc on round 4, *ch4, work behind petal on last round, sc in sp between last sc and first sc between the next 2 petals. Rep from * around, ch4, slst to first st at beg of round. — 8 ch4 sps
Round 6: slst into first ch4 sp, ch3 (counts as dc), work 3 more dc in same sp, *4dc in next ch4 sp. Rep from * around, slst to top of beg ch to join. — 32 dcs
Rounds 7 – 11: ch3 (counts as dc), work 1dc in ea st around. Slst to top of beg ch to join.
Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
BLANKET:
Round 1: ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook, slst to first sc at beg of round to join. — 8 scs
Round 2: ch1, 2sc in ea st around, slst to first sc at beg of round to join. — 16 scs
