Shawls for Sharing – the NEW Project Kristin Cares Initiative
Project Kristin Cares: Kristin Omdahl is committed to helping fellow survivors of domestic violence and shedding light on this frightening and often hidden crime in our society. In an attempt to achieve these goals and help eradicate domestic violence, Kristin donates through the fund she established: Project Kristin Cares.
Together we can help survivors of domestic violence.
Shawls for Sharing is our NEW Project Kristin Care initiative. The funds raised by the sale of the Project Kristin Cares Shawls for Sharing Patterns will be donated to the help survivors of domestic violence. You can help raise awareness, and end domestic violence, by purchasing these special patterns, donating directly, and/or participating in our KAL and CAL events, and then donating your Shawls to the location of your choosing. Together WE can make a difference.
Shawls for Sharing details:
Each quarter I will release a dedicated knit or crochet shawl pattern. 100% of the proceeds of the sale of the pattern during that quarter will be donated to the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
The Tranquil Tiles Crochet Shawl Pattern will be the pattern focused on for the 1st quarter of 2023 (Jan 1 – Mar 30). This is a crochet motif triangular shawl with a beautiful edging. It is a one-ball project featuring MegaBall Aran yarn by Hobbii Yarns in color cornflower.

I will feature one yarn company for each Shawls for Sharing pattern and quarterly CAL and KAL. The Tranquil Tiles Crochet Shawl pattern featured for 1st quarter 2023 is made using Hobbii Yarn’s Megaball Aran in color cornflower. I will show the shawl and other variations in a variety of yarns and yarn weights.
Join me every Tuesday on the Kristin Omdahl Show for a live Tranquil Tiles Crochet Shawl Pattern CAL from January through March 2023. I will share how the shawl works up in different weight yarns, talk about how to modify the pattern with color, beads or other embellishments. And I will be available to answer any questions you might have about the pattern, ways to donate, or other ways we can give back to our community. I believe that dedicating one day a week to discuss charity, giving back, paying it forward and other ways to be kind will be beneficial to all of us, and gain positive momentum in our lives and our communities. Together WE can make a difference.

How else can you help? Lots of ways! First of all, share the information, share this website – spread the word about Project Kristin Cares, and help to shed light on domestic violence and how we are helping. Donate your time to teach a skill at your local shelter. Gather supplies that your local shelters need. Donate items to silent auctions to raise money.
And please, if you, or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, don’t be afraid to ask for help! Life CAN be better, and please remember that love doesn’t hurt!
