Easy Reference for Social Media Banner Sizes by Kristin Omdahl Yarn

I get asked for business advice, in all facets of my industry and business in general, all the time. Recently, I revised my logo. Long story short, the mirrored Ks were pretty, but didn’t really represent my brand as well as say, KO. So after many, many, MANY revisions I came up with a solution I am extremely proud of:

Changing my logo had a snowball effect: every website with any branding whatsoever, needed new banners, profile pictures and/or logos. Every product needs new labeling, every ‘thing’ needs new ‘something’. And what’s the best way to get started? With a list, of course!

I needed to change the banner of both my professional Facebook pages, the banner on Etsy, Amazon, Twitter, YouTube and my website. Then I needed to find the specs for image sizes for all those sites. Wouldn’t it be great if they magically sized themselves? Unfortunately, each one is just different enough that it is better to make them unique. As far as I know, YouTube is the toughest one to design because the area of your banner seen varies greatly from mobile to devices to laptops to TVs, in height AND width!

In the past, I have designed banners with products. But considering all the parameters here, and wanting to look unified, I decided to use a photo I took of the
And from there, I made fresh files in Photoshop with the correct pixel sizes required for each banner. Added this photo as the background, rotated 90 degrees and in mirrored layers so it would take up enough of the canvas size. Then placed my logo on top.
