How to Crochet Dragonfly Shawl, Parts 1 & 2 Crochet Shawl Pattern by Kristin Omdahl

The Dragonfly shawl is a crochet pattern from “Crochet So Fine” one of Kristin’s all-time best selling crochet books. It has been in print since 2008, has international distribution and has even been printed in Russian this year!

I love connecting with my customers any way I can, and I always ask for feedback. I love working on videos for my YouTube channel and I often ask for requests for new videos. This is the first project based on viewer feedback and has been requested more than any other project for a video tutorial. The dragonfly shawl is a lot of fun to make, and involves some unusual stitchwork. I broke it down into two videos. In this video, I demonstrate how to make ttr (triple treble crochet) stitches and alternate rows of ttr with rows of slip stitches. Its a gorgeous lace pattern. And at the end of this part 1 video, I show you how to block the pieces before we add the gorgeous dragonfly gusset (that will be in part 2 video).   Not at the moment. The book is still in print and all the patterns are copyrighted exclusively to the book. Once the book is out of print, I will have my rights reverted back to me.

I have tried two different yarns and even changing hooks and I cannot get my “shells” to look as big as yours. My stitch is correct but what is the gauge? I want to finish this sooooo bad. Thanks.
