Be Mine Crochet Heart Pendants FREE Pattern

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this super quick and easy, ADORABLE gift idea can be whipped up for anyone you LOVE! Make it for kids, teachers, loved ones or YOURSELF! Who wouldn’t love a handmade heart pendant?

What you will need:
Be So Fine Yarn
C/2 (2.75mm) crochet hook
Small amount of poly fill
(1) jump ring, 1/4″
(1) 16″ chain necklace

Gauge: not critical for this project

Finished size: each heart is 1″ diameter

Instructions:
Heart (make 2):
Round 1: ch4, 9dc in 4th ch from hook, ch3, slst to 3rd ch from hook, 3 more dc in original ch. Slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 12 dcs, 1 ch3-picot

Row 2: 5tr in next st, skip next st, slst in sp before next st, skip next st, 5tr in next st, slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving long tail for assembly.

Assembly:
Once you have 2 hearts made, sandwich them together with wrong sides facing. Using the tails from each heart, you will sew them together (top side) with one tail, and (bottom side) with the other tail. Beginning with one tail, sew through both thicknesses toward the top of the hearts. When you reach the top center (between the two humps of the heart), join the jump ring. Then continue to sew across the tops until you reach the second tail along the sides. Fasten off and weave in this tail. Thread your needle with the second tail. Ball up 3 very small amounts of fiber fill. Each tiny ball should be approx 1/4″ diameter. Stuff one into each hump of the hearts, and then center the third ball into the center of the heart. Sew up the remaining lower half of the hearts together. Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

While the gauge is fairly tight on this project, some times you will be able to see the stuffing if the colors contrast. f you cannot find fiber fill to match your hearts, a sharpie permanent marker in a matching color to the yarn can be used to spot correct any white fiberfill showing through the yarn.

This project is so quick to make, you can make them for all your loved ones (including yourself) in one day!
