Lacey-Mae Crochet Bikini FREE Pattern

Lacey-Mae Crochet Bikini FREE Pattern
by Kristin Omdahl

The cluster scalloped edges bring playful flair to this classic bikini. Ties fasten the top. The coordinating bottom has elastic incorporated into the waist for a snug fit. This project takes only one ball of Be So Sporty Yarn – 100% bamboo, sport weight yarn. The sheen of the bamboo brings a luxurious finish to the classic crochet bikini design.
Follow the step by step instructions here, and if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can download a PDF file and watch the video tutorial as well.

Back tie: Make a chain 50″ long. Fasten off. Make a double knot at each end. Weave in tails. This tie is woven into row 11 of the bases of the triangles and ties around the rib cage. For more modest cleavage coverage, you can begin the ties 2″ up the front center of the triangles (like you are lacing shoes) and then work across row 11 of the bases of each triangle.

Neck Ties: Make a chain 18″ long, slst into the top corner stitch of one triangle, ch an additional 2″ and slst to the ch 4″ away from hook. This will give you a decorative 2″ double loop chain at the top of the triangles. Repeat for second neck tie.

Row 1: ch2, dc across. — 30 dcs
Row 2: ch2, dc2tog, dc across to last 2 sts, dc2tog. — 28 dcs

Rows 26: ch2, dc in ea st across.
Row 27: ch2, 2dc in first st, dc in ea st across to last st: 2dc. — 16 sts
Rows 28: rep row 26
Rows 29 – 36: rep rows 27 – 28 five more times. — 26 sts
Row 37: ch2, 2dc in first st, dc in ea st to center, 3dc in center st, dc in ea st to last st, 2dc in last st. —30 sts
Do not fasten off.

Round 1: Ch55, sc across beg 30 chs, ch55, sc across 30 sts on row 37, join with slst. — 170 sts
Cut elastic shorter than the intended size. We need this to fit snugly on 36″ hips, so cut the elastic to fit 32″ after tying into a knot (you may need an additional 2″ for the ties.
Round 2: holding the knotted elastic band together with the waistband, sc in ea st around working around the elastic so it sits inside the stitches. — 170 sts
Round 3: ch1, sc in same st. Ch4, 3tr-cluster in same st, *skip 4 sts, sc in next st, ch4, 3tr-cluster in same st. Rep from * around. Fasten off.
Leg Openings:
Round 1: join with slst to underside of beg ch of waistband, ch1, sc in ea ch, 2sc in ea end of row along rows 1 – 37, join with slst to beg of round. — 129 sts
Round 2: ch1, sc in same st. Ch4, 3tr-cluster in same st, *skip 4 sts, sc in next st, ch4, 3tr-cluster in same st. Rep from * around. Fasten off.
