What you will need to make the GEMMA Knit Lace Cowl:
- 184 yds (167m) #4 worsted weight yarn
- US10 (6mm) circular knitting needles, 24 in
- Stitch Marker
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge: 10 sts / 16 rounds = 4 in (10cm) after blocking
Finished size: 30 in (76.2cm) circumference x 11 in (28cm) tall, after blocking
Stitch Guide: Knit cast on (KCO), knit (k), purl (p), yarn over (yo), slip slip knit (ssk), knit 2 together (k2tog), slip 2 knit wise, knit 1, pass 2 slip stitches over (s2kp), and bind off (BO).
Instructions:
Set Up Round 1: KCO 80 sts, place marker, join in round being careful to not twist stitches. — 80 sts
Set Up Round 2: Purl around, slip marker. — 80 sts
Set Up Round 3: Knit around, slip marker. — 80 sts
Set Up Round 4: Purl around, slip marker. — 80 sts
Note: Slip marker at the end of each round.
Round 1: *K2tog, yo. Rep from around.
Round 2: Knit around.
Round 3: *Ssk, k3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 4: *Yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k3. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 5: *K1, yo, sk2p, yo, k4. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 6: *K2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Note: Slip the first st of round 7 to the end of the round (other side of the stitch marker) for the last k2tog.
Round 7: *Yo, k3, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 8: *K5, yo, sk2p, yo. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 9: Knit around. — 80 sts
Round 10: *K2tog, yo. Rep from * around. — 80 sts
Round 11: Knit around. 80 sts
Rep rounds 3 – 11 three more times.
Next round: Purl around.
Next Round: Knit around.
Next Round: Purl around.
BO all sts loosely. Fasten off.
Finishing: Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
