How the Show Began
Originally I thought I would silently knit or crochet on camera and others would want to sit quietly with me. I hadn’t expected much. And certainly didn’t expect so much enthusiasm for talking, teaching and demonstrating. In the beginning my son was a teenager and training to become a professional tennis player. And after dropping him off at his training academy every day, I was next to the beach around 7:45am and thought it would be fun to livestream at the beach. Over the years it evolved to a different schedule, different lifestyle and even different purpose: location varied from on the beach, in my garden, at one of Marlon’s tennis tournaments, or at home with my cat. Once I created my own product lines, including my own yarns, it became a place to show my hand dyed yarns and how to knit and crochet with them. But some transitions were easier to adapt to and others not as much.
Why I’m Bringing the Show Back Again
I have wrestled with different concepts for bringing the show back for a long time. I miss sharing my enthusiasm for creating, and I miss the connection with people, too.
Funny fact: when I produced 1,173 livestream podcast episodes, I had never watched or listened to another podcast! Now, in 2026, I love long-form podcasts on everything from wellness, business and self-improvement to spirituality, ancient history and so much more. And I keep feeling drawn to trying it again. But I’m drawn to doing it differently because I’m not the same person I was then, either. I’ve transitioned from single mom to empty nester, and from full-time solo entrepreneur to balancing a 40-hour work week with my business and creative life. I’ve become a novelist and a pickleball player. I’m still passionate about crochet and design, but also wellness, healthy cooking, art, writing, fitness, balance and so much more.
And that’s what I want this version of The Kristin Omdahl Show to reflect.
I want to share the behind-the-scenes thinking that goes into my pattern designs, recipes, drawings, novels—and whatever else has captured my curiosity that week. Not only what I’m creating, but why I’m making the choices I’m making and how I figure things out along the way. Because while the subjects may have changed and expanded, the curious, enthusiastic mind behind all of it is still the same one you joined all those years ago.
What Happens Inside my Creative Brain
Crochet and yarn will naturally be a big part of it. But on any given week, we might be figuring out the math behind turning leftover motifs into a dress, researching what kind of sailboat a character coudl have acquired in 1970s Morocco, tweaking the macros in a recipe, experimenting with sourdough discard, drawing a scene from a novel, trying to garden on a fourth-floor balcony in tropical, southwest Florida, organizing a drawer or figuring out how Pilates, pickleball and strength training coexist in a balanced life with a full time job and full time business.z
The subjects change. The curiosity and creative process remain the same.

Let’s Start a Rally
I’ve been playing pickleball for about six months now. One of the things I love about pickleball is the rally. I can serve the ball, but what makes the game interesting is what happens when someone sends it back.
I think creativity and community work the same way.
I can share an idea, a pattern, a recipe, a story, a question or even one of the strange rabbit holes I’ve wandered down. Then you share your thoughts, experiences and ideas with me. Sometimes your response sends my mind somewhere completely unexpected.
And the rally continues.
That’s what I want this new chapter of The Kristin Omdahl Show to feel like. I’m serving up what’s happening inside my creative world, and I’m inviting you into the conversation.
Happy Moments
There is one part of the new show that I want to include in every episode: a moment to notice something that made me happy.
It doesn’t need to be monumental. In fact, I think some of the best moments aren’t.
It might be a thoughtful gift from a friend, something adorable Bjorn did, friends checking on me when I missed pickleball, something beautiful growing on my balcony, or simply a moment when I stopped long enough to realize, this makes me happy.
I believe deeply in finding joy and gratitude in the present moment, and I want to make room for that here.
So with every episode, I’ll share one of my happy moments—and I’d love for you to share yours with me in the comments.
Join the Conversation
The Kristin Omdahl Show has always been about more than watching me make something. The conversations and community that grew around the show became part of what made it special.
I want that again.
When something I talk about reminds you of an experience, sparks an idea, makes you curious or sends you down a rabbit hole of your own, tell me.
I’ll serve. You return.
Let’s see where the rally takes us.
What’s Coming Next
New episodes of The Kristin Omdahl Show will be shared first on Patreon on Mondays at 9 a.m. The full episode will then be released publicly on my website and YouTube the following Thursday.
Each episode will also have a companion blog post here on KristinOmdahl.com where you can find the projects, patterns, recipes, resources and other things we discuss during the show.
Not every episode will contain every topic or recurring feature. That’s part of the fun. Some weeks we may spend most of our time surrounded by yarn. Another week might lead us into a novel, a recipe, an art project, a little math, a research rabbit hole or something completely unexpected.
The subjects may change. The curiosity and creative process remain the same.
Let us make time to create, share and inspire, today and every day. I’ll see you in the next episode!
xoxo, Kristin Omdahl
