Cooking LIVE! with Kristin Omdahl Episode 007: Quick and Easy Christmas Tree Appetizers
With a quick trip down the floral craft aisle, you can create something both festive and coastal — edible art that feels right at home in the Sea Glass world. These whimsical Christmas tree appetizers and desserts combine the joy of handmade creativity with the beauty of natural colors and textures — from ruby tomatoes and emerald olives to creamy whites and ocean-deep purples. They’re now part of my Sea Glass Companion Recipes collection, inspired by gatherings in Cypress Key where food, friendship, and artistry intertwine. Whether you’re preparing for a seaside holiday or simply adding a little sparkle to your table, these edible trees remind us that creativity and celebration are one and the same.
Watch teh video and learn how making show-stopping appetizers and desserts for a party can be so quick and easy with minimal prep, too!
Choose a theme for your easy Christmas tree appetizer or dessert
For appetizer, I chose the antipasto theme, but you could make a different theme, too. Most of the ingredients are either store-bought or minimal prep, so the time to prepare is just in assembling the tree.
For dessert, I went with two options: a rainbow of fresh fruit for one, and a decadent chocolate theme for the other.
4-pack Foam Cones: 4.5×13.5 in, buy on Amazon
You could make homemade truffles for the decadent chocolate Christmas tree dessert, but store bought would make it really fast for a last-minute idea, too. I have a delicious, homemade chocolate truffle recipe HERE.
