Alexa Tunisian Crochet Lace Hat Pattern

This hat is worked side to side in rows, combining a textured stitch pattern and a lace pattern to make the body of the hat and the ribbed brim at the same time. This is the simplest of hat constructions because you simply sew up the flat piece into a tube and cinch the crown closed. No shaping within the stitch pattern!

Desiree Crochet Hat Pattern

This is one of my all-time favorite stitch patterns. It has a bit of a learning curve, but if you can make cluster stitches, you can make these. Please follow the step by step instructions and detailed charts. Once you get the hang of working this beautiful stitch pattern in  the round, you can also easily make this into a cowl if you skip the crown shaping and just work the tube even in the round.

Kendra Messy Bun Crochet Hat Pattern

This hat is a play on the juxtaposition of cables and lace. The brim’s cable is dense, textured and thick – great for keeping your ears protected in a blustering storm. The body of the hat is worked in broomstick lace, which is also textured, but light. At first glance, you might think the openwork would not be very warm, but the twisted loops of broomstick lace have little pockets of air in the center, which help trap warmth.

Nina Hairpin Lace Crochet Hat Pattern

This is a unique exploration of hairpin lace. One strip is manipulated into a medallion that works well for the crown of a hat. And then you alternate bands of stitches with another hairpin lace strip that is joined into a round loop for the walls of the hat.

Primrose Messy Bun Crochet Hat Pattern

As a woman who wears her hair long, I can totally appreciate the messy bun hat movement! This is a wonderful way to accessorize a bun or ponytail hairstyle and look super cute in a hat at the same time! Reese Tapestry Crochet Candy Striped Hat Pattern

This is an incredibly simple hat worked only in double crochet. The interesting starburst crown and vertical striped walls are created by carrying two different colored yarns throughout the pattern. The two high contrast colors shown remind me of cookies and cream ice cream. Combine any two colors to reflect your favorite sweets!

Reina Mommy & Me Side to Side Crochet Hat Patterns

This is a very easy project – perfect for a beginner. You work the hat flat and seam it together at the end. One of my favorite textures in crochet hats is alternating rows of half double crochet and rows of single crochet, all worked in the back loop only. Both sides are beautiful and textured. I have made this hat many times for gifts. On the smaller sizes, I often add a floral motif as ear flaps for a whimsical, fairy effect.
