A Crochet Half Circle Shawl is a wonderful shape for crochet shawls. This is the top down increase formula. It can be reversed for a bottom up construction as well.

What you will need to make a Crochet Half Circle Shawl:

Note: A top down increase shawl can be made in any weight yarn with an appropriately sized crochet hook (check the yarn label for a suggested range).

This Crochet Half Circle Shawl shawl is made with:

• Lion Brand Wool Ease, color Rainforest, 3 balls
• H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical for this project. Here are some suggested size recommendations for top down shawls:

Suggested Crochet Half Circle Shawl sizes:

Kerchief: 36 in (91cm) wide x 18 in (46cm) long

Shawlette: 24 in (61cm) – 30 in (76cm) wide x 48 in (122cm) to 60 in (152cm) wide

Full sized shawl: 36 in (91cm) – 40 in (102cm) long x 72 in (183cm) to 80 in (203cm) wide

Finished size:

50 in (127cm) wide x 20 in (50.8cm) long.
