This is a simple top-down construction crochet hat made exclusively in single crochet. The increases in this hat crochet pattern are easy to memorize with strategically placed stitch markers. And the edging is delicate and simle in tiny single crochet shells.

What you will need to make this hat crochet pattern:

• 250 yds (210m) #3 dk weight yarn
• E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Shown in: Natural Cotton Raffia Yarn; 280 yds per spool; raffia/cotton blend; color brown, 1 spool.

Gauge: 

14 sts / 16 rounds = 4 in (10cm) in single crochet.

Finished Size:

23 in (58.4cm) circumference x 6 in (15.2cm) tall with 4 in (10cm) brim.

Stitch Guide: 

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), and single crochet (sc).

Pattern notes: 

Weave in loose ends as work progresses

Do not join with a slip stitch unless otherwise indicated.

Do not turn your work at the end of each round.
