Announcing the Launch of Tropical Nights Fabric Collection by Kristin Omdahl

Inspiration for the  Tropical Nights Fabric Collection

This fabric collection began as a hand-drawn sketch of several flowers including roses, daisies, and larger petaled flowers with flowing petals and texture like hibiscus. The color palette is inspired by the darker, shadowed hues of tropical foliage. I imagine the twilight shadows of the shorter winter days in the tropics. The gorgeous palette includes a soft peach, fuchsia, a dark red, fern green, chartreuse and denim blue. A coordinating solid fabric of these colors is include in the collection for coordinating linings, borders or trim in any sewing project.

The abstract prints are textured to have a look of stone, reminding me of how lovely it is to enjoy an evening at a tropical outdoor cafe. I have organized each set of the prints by color below. You can browse all of these beautiful prints in Kristin Omdahl’s Spoonflower Shop HERE.

Quilting Design Inspiration featuring Tropical Nights Fabric Collection by Kristin Omdahl

Here are a few mockup quilt designs I put together to showcase how beautifully the colors and prints of the Tropical Nights Fabric Collection look together. These mockups are heavily mixed. You can absolutely keep it simple with 2, 3, or 4 prints to combine as well. Use one print for a tote bag, and a second print for the lining. O make a reversible bag with two or more different prints.
