Scrunchies make a great last minute gift. You can whip up a few in an hour! This super quick and easy pattern is a great beginner crochet project, too. Slip stitch, chain and half double crochet are the only stitches you’ll need. And Be So Easy Yarn is so soft – this feels luxurious in my hair.

You can easily modify this pattern as well. Switch to double crochets for a wider scrunchy and/or increase the rate of increase for a tighter, ruffle.

What you will need:

• 20 yds (18.3m) #5 bulky weight yarn
• K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook
• Elastic hair tie
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Instructions:

Round 1: Join yarn with slst to the hair tie. Ch1, work 39 hdc around hair tie. Slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. — 39 hdcs

Round 2: Ch1, *2hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st. Rep from * around, 2hdc in last st, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. — 57 hdcs

Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
