Welcome to The Kristin Omdahl Show — a weekly conversation about making things, learning things, trying things, and finding inspiration in unexpected places.

After more than 20 years as a knit and crochet designer, author, teacher, and content creator — and more than 1,000 published designs — I have accumulated a lot of stories, projects, lessons, experiments, successes, failures, and rabbit holes.

This is where I bring all of those things together.

Some weeks we may talk about a crochet dress I’m designing. Another week I might take you into the kitchen for a recipe experiment, pull an old project from the archives, explore color theory, work through some Math Nerd calculations, share something fascinating I discovered Across the ‘Net, or tell you what I’m reading, researching, growing, making, modifying — or moving on from.

There is no requirement that creativity fit neatly into one category.

Neither do we.

More Than 1,000 Episodes — and a New Chapter

The Kristin Omdahl Show isn’t actually new.

I began livestreaming the show years ago and eventually created more than 1,000 episodes while building an enormous library of knit and crochet tutorials, patterns, conversations, demonstrations, and creative inspiration.

Then I stepped away.

In 2026, I came back to the show with a different perspective.

I didn’t want to recreate what I’d done before. After more than two decades of constantly asking myself, What can I make next?, I realized there was another question I wanted to explore:

What can I do with everything I’ve already learned — and where can curiosity take me next?

The new Kristin Omdahl Show still has plenty of yarn. Crochet and knitting will always be part of my world.

But now there’s room for the rest of it, too.

Recipes. Books. Gardening. Travel. Color. Design. Healthy living. Research. Experiments. Stories. Mistakes. Old projects worth rediscovering. New projects worth attempting.

And probably more than a few rabbit holes along the way.

What You’ll Find on The Kristin Omdahl Show

There are a few recurring ideas you’ll see often, although no two episodes need to look exactly alike.

Knit, Crochet & Design

New projects, works in progress, techniques, design decisions and a fresh look through an archive of more than 1,000 published knit and crochet patterns.

Math Nerd

I love understanding why something works.

Sometimes that means calculating the proportions of an ice cream pie. Sometimes it’s garment construction, recipe macros, sizing, geometry or something completely unexpected.

If there’s an excuse to do the math, I’ll probably take it.

Make • Modify • Move On

Not every idea deserves to stay exactly as it began.

I’ll revisit projects, recipes, techniques and ideas and ask one of three questions:

Would I make it again? Would I modify it? Or is it time to move on?

Twenty-plus years of creative work gives us plenty to explore.

Across the ‘Net

Interesting, useful, beautiful, strange or inspiring things I’ve discovered online — and the rabbit holes they send me down.

Recipes & Balanced Living

I love experimenting in the kitchen almost as much as I love experimenting with yarn.

Expect recipes, ingredient experiments, nutrition and macro calculations, gardening, movement and my ongoing pursuit of a creative, balanced life.

Books, Stories & Sea Glass

I’m also a novelist, and storytelling has become another part of my creative life.

You’ll hear about The Sea Glass Journal, the stories and research behind the Sea Glass Soul series, and the recipes, crafts, places and ideas that cross between my fictional world and the real one.

Explore What You Hear on the Show

One of my favorite things about The Kristin Omdahl Show is that the conversation doesn’t have to end when an episode does.

When I mention a pattern, recipe, tutorial, book, project or resource that already exists here at KristinOmdahl.com, you’ll find it in that episode’s show notes whenever possible.

That means an episode about color might lead you to an older crochet pattern.

A recipe experiment might send us into a Math Nerd calculation.

A project from twenty years ago might inspire something completely new.

And something I’m researching for a novel might turn into a recipe, craft or adventure in real life.

Follow whatever interests you.

That’s the point.
