How to Crochet Square 3 of 6: Springtime Afghan CAL Crochet Pattern with Kristin Omdahl and Yolanda Soto Lopez
This is the third crochet square pattern of 6 for the Springtime Afghan CAL, designed by Yolanda Soto Lopez and Kristin Omdahl.

Square 3 of 6, Springtime Afghan CAL
Materials: Kristin Omdahl Yarns Be So Sporty, 100% bamboo; 325 yds per 4oz; sport weight yarn. Colors: Chantilly Lace (A), Sun Kissed Yellow (B), Crushed Berries (C), Passionate Plum (D)
F/5 (3.75mm) crochet hook

scissors
FInished size: 6″ square
Instructions:
Round 1: ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook to form ring. Ch8 (counts as dc, ch5), *dc in ring, ch5. Rep from * six more times, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 8 dcs, 8 ch5 sps
Round 2: ch4, 3tr-cluster in ch5 sp, *ch7, 4tr-cluster in next ch5 sp. Rep from * around, ch7, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. Fasten off.
Round 3: Join second color with slst in any ch7 sp, ch1, sc in same sp, ch5, (tr, ch5, tr, ch5, dc, ch5) in next ch7 sp, *sc in next ch7 sp, ch5, (dc, ch5, tr, ch5, tr, ch5, dc, ch5) in next ch7 sp. Rep from * around, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join.
Round 4: slst into next ch5 sp, ch1, (sc, 5dc, sc) in same sp, *in next ch5 sp work (sc, 5dc, sc). Rep from * around, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join.
Round 5: slst in ea of next 3 sts, (you want to be at the center dc), ch1, sc in same st, *ch5, skip 6 sts, sc in next st, ch5, (sc, ch5,s c) in next st, (ch5, skip 6 sts, sc in next st)x2. Rep from * around. Sls tto first st at beg of round to join. Fasten off.
I am designing 3 squares and Yolanda is designing 3 squares. Every week, one of us will be launching a YouTube video teaching you how to make one of the squares, and I will be creating a crochet chart each week for each square as well.
On the final week, I will show you how to seamlessly join the squares together to create the afghan! Doesn’t that sound fun? I hope you join us.
