Baby Beanie with Big Floppy Ears FREE Crochet Baby Hat Pattern

Baby Beanie with Big Floppy Ears FREE Crochet Pattern

This crochet baby hat pattern began with a conversation. One of my closest friends has a pregnant daughter who is about to give birth to a little boy named Grayson. My friend can’t be there for her grandson’s birth because her daughter lives in Colorado and she lives here in Florida. Due to the long distance and work commitments, she won’t be able to travel for the birth. Her daughter is also having serious health complications during her pregnancy.

Inspiration for this crochet baby hat pattern

Today we were talking about everything and my heart was just breaking for my friend and her family. She told me how much she would love to have a Baby Yoda hat for the baby so I surprised her and made an adorable little baby beanie crochet hat with big floppy ears.

I made the crochet hat first, with a super simple top down, in-the-round construction with one ball of Be So Baby Yarn and a size E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook. Then I made two flat, shaped ears. And finally I sewed the ears to the hat. Scroll below to enjoy this free crochet baby hat pattern plus video.
