Vivienne Knit Motif Shawl Pattern

The Vivienne Knit Motif Shawl Pattern is a top down construction. This delicate shawl’s deceptively simple construction allows you to utilize beautiful mini medallion motifs and join them as you go without cutting yarn! The motifs are worked in one direction, and the bands of the shawl are joined perpendicularly to the strips of motifs. This is a bottom up construction shawl, decreasing in size as you go. The final 5 mini medallions at the top look like a flower petal after joining.

What you will need:

• 650 yds #1 fingering weight yarn
• US6 (4mm) knitting needles
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

16 sts / 16 rows = 4 in (10cm) in blocked garter

stitch

Finished Size:

50 in (127cm) wide x 20 in (51cm) tall

Special Stitch Instructions:

S2kp: slip 2 sts knitwise, knit 1 st, pass 2 sl sts

over. This is a double decrease.
