Gauge:

20sts / 12 rows = 4 in (10cm) in double crochet

Finished Size:

Instructions:

Base:

Ch5, slst to 5th ch from hook to form ring. Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 11dc in ring, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 12 sts

Round 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 2dc in ea st around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 24 sts

Round 3: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 1dc in next st. *2dc in next st, 1dc in next st. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 36 sts

Round 4: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 1dc in ea of next 2 sts. *2dc in next st, 1dc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 48 sts

Round 5: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 1dc in ea of next 3 sts. *2dc in next st, 1dc in each of next 3 sts. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 60 sts

Round 6: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 1dc in ea of next 4 sts. *2dc in next st, 1dc in each of next 4 sts. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 72 sts

Round 12: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same st, 1dc in ea of next 10 sts. *2dc in next st, 1dc in each of next 10 sts. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. Do not fasten off. — 144 sts

Walls: Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea st around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 144 sts

Rounds 2 – 6: rep round 1, referring to chart for color placement. — 144 sts

Rounds 7 – 24: Rep rounds 1 – 6. Do not fasten off. — 144 sts

Edging:

Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea st around, alternating colors A and B every other stitch. Slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 144 sts

Rounds 2 – 3: Rep round 1.

Fasten off.

Strap:

First Strap:

With Color A, *ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * for 64 inches (162 cm). Fasten off.

Second Strap:

With 2 strands of Color B held together, chain for 64 inches (162 cm). Fasten off.

Thread second strap onto yarn needle and weave in and out of foundation ovals of first strap. Secure both ends with a square knot.

Assembly:

Sandwich fold the sides of the bag 2 in (5cm) from each side. Thread the strap through all four thicknesses on each fold, making sure strap is on the outside of both front and back side (see photo). Tie ends of

strap together at one of the sides of bag (not at front or back).

Finishing:

Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
