Announcing a CAL Crochet Along Project with Yolanda Soto Lopez and Kristin Omdahl!

Last year at Stitches West, I met Yolanda Soto Lopez through a mutual friend. We bonded over our love of crafting and yarn, and have been friends ever since! She lives in California and I live in Florida, but we don’t let that stop us! We video chat to stay in touch 🙂
We thought it would be fun to collaborate and design an afghan together. I am going to design 3 squares and Yolanda is going to design 3 squares. Every week, one of us will be launching a YouTube video teaching you how to make one of the squares, and you will be able to download the instructions in a corresponding blog post.

On the final week, I will show you how to seamlessly join the squares together to create the afghan! Doesn’t that sound fun? I hope you join us.

Here is our schedule:

Week 1: February 26, 2016 Kristin will show you how to make the first square.

Week 2: March 4, 2016: Yolanda will show you how to make the second square.

Week 3: March 11, 2016: Kristin will show you how to make the third square.

Week 4: March 18, 2016: Yolanda will show you how to make the fourth square.

Week 5: March 25, 2016: Kristin will show you how to make the fifth square.

Week 6: April 1, 2016: Yolanda will show you how to make the sixth square.

Week 7: April 8, 2016: Kristin will show you how to join all the squares.

The theme is springtime and here is the beautiful, cheerful color palette we chose: Passionate Plum, Sun Kissed Yellow, Crushed Berries and Chantilly Lace.

If you subscribe to Yolanda’s YouTube Channel and my YouTube Channel you will be notified as soon as the videos are live every week. And we will send links back to both our blogs each week so you can download the patterns as well.

We will be using Be So Sporty Yarn for this project.
