How to Make The Easy & Gorgeous Bling Knit Shrug Free Knitting Pattern

What you will need:
2 (3) balls Be So Sporty Yarn; shown in BLING Collection colorway Yarn On The Beach
US8 (5mm) knitting needles
US5 (3.75mm) knitting needles (for cuffs)
Contrast yarn for provisional cast on technique
Yarn needle
Scissors

Gauge:

16 sts /  20 rows = 1″ in blocked stockinette stitch

Finished sizes:

24″ wide x 48″ long

Special Stitch Instructions:

Knit (k): insert needle from front to back into next stitch on left needle. Wrap yarn and draw through  complete stitch and slip the new stitch to the right needle.

Purl (p): insert needle from back to front into next stitch on left needle. Wrap yarn and draw through to complete stitch and slip the new stitch to the right needle.

Provisional Cast On Technique: knot working yarn to contrasting yarn. With needle in right hand, hold knot in right hand. Tension both strands in left hand; separate the strands with fingers of the left hand. Yarn over with working yarn in front of waste yarn.

Instructions:

Body:

CO 96 sts with main yarn and contrast yarn with provisional technique

Row 1 (RS): Knit across. — 96 sts

Row 2 (WS): Purl across. — 96 sts

Row 3: Knit across. — 96 sts

Row 4: Purl across. — 96 sts

Row 5: Knit across. — 96 sts

Rows 6 – 10: rep rows 1 – 5.

Rows 11 – 220: Rep rows 1 – 10 twenty-one more times.

Cuff:

First cuff:

Note: On next row, switch to smaller needles.

Row 1: *k2tog, k4. Rep from * across. —  80 sts

Rows 2 – 6: knit across. — 80 sts

Row 7: *k2tog, k3. Rep from * across. —  64 sts

Rows 8 – 12: knit across. — 80 sts

Row 13: *k2tog, k2. Rep from * across. — 48 sts

Row 14: knit across. — 48 sts

BO all sts.

Second cuff:

Pick up stitches from provisional cast on and remove the contrast yarn as you go.

Rows 1 – 14: rep rows 1 – 14 of first cuff.

BO all sts.
