Designing LIVE with Kristin Omdahl on Create Share Inspire Podcast Episode 554

On Friday, March 6, 2020, I will live stream broadcast my Create Share Inspire Podcast at the normal time of 9:00am but instead of doing a 30 minute video podcast from the beach, I am going to be in my studio and sharing how I will design a crochet lace shawl LIVE on the air in real time, from start to finish.

Designing LIVE with Kristin Omdahl Part 1:

In the first segment, I will show a crochet chart for working even in rows, along with a swatch, and discuss the possibilities of turning this design into a top down increasing triangle shape with double increases in the center and single increases along each side.

Designing LIVE with Kristin Omdahl Part 2:

Then in the second segment, I will hand draw my vision for the conversion of the even in rows chart to top down increasing triangle chart.

Designing LIVE with Kristin Omdahl Part 3:

In the third segment, I will begin crocheting the shawl from my hand drawn chart. If all goes well, I won’t have to start over and make any revisions. Otherwise, it will be back to the drawing board!

My goal is to show the design process for a crochet lace shawl from start to finish in 5 hours. Do you think I can do it? Do you think I can’t? Join me LIVE and find out for yourself!

After the show is over, I will make a professional chart and written pattern; produce a tutorial video; and release the pattern so you can make it, too!

I am using 4 – 6 balls of Be So Baby Yarn and an I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook for this shawl.
