What you will need:

  • 978 (1075, 1183, 1301, 1431) yds or 894.2 (982, 1081, 1189, 1309)m #5 bulky weight yarn
  • L/11 (8mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Be So Easy Yarn; 145 yds (132m) per 3.5oz (100gm); 100% milk cotton, #5 bulky weight yarn; color Lavender, 7 (8, 9, 10, 11) balls.

Finished Size:

34 (38, 42, 46, 50) in or 86.4 (96.5, 106.7, 116.8, 127)cm bust circumference.

41 (42, 43, 44, 45) in or 104.1 (106.7, 109.2, 111.8, 114.3)cm length.

Gauge:

8 sts / 6 rows = 4 in (10cm) in pattern, after blocking.

Stitch Guide:

Chain (ch), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), foundation ovals (fo), double crochet 2 together (dc2tog), double crochet 3 together (dc3tog) and slip stitch (slst).

Instructions:

Back: 

Set up Row: Ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * 11 (12, 13, 14, 15) more times. — 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) foundation ovals

Row 1: Slst into first foundation oval, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same sp, 3dc in ea foundation oval across. — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Row 2: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st. Rep from * across. — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Rep row 2 until body is 39 (40, 41, 42, 43) in  or 99 (101.6, 104.1, 106.7, 109.2) cm long. Do not fasten off.

Lower Hem Edging:

Row 1: Ch1 (does not count as a st), hdc in ea st across. — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Rows 2 – 3: Rep row 1. Fasten off.

Back Side Gussets (make 2):

Row 1: Join with slst at lower corner of back, ch1 (does not count as a st), work 1hdc in ea row-end st of lower hem, and work 2hdc in ea row-end of back body until you are 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) in from top. Leave remaining sts unworked.

Rows 2 – 3: Ch1 (does not count as a st), hdc in ea st across. Fasten off. 

Rep on opposite side of back for second back gusset. Fasten off.

Front:

Upper Left Front:

Row 1: Join with slst to 3rd (3rd, 3rd, 4th, 4th) foundation oval from opposite side of set up row, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same oval, 3dc in ea oval across. — 9 (9, 9, 12, 12) dcs

Row 2: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next dc. Rep from * across. — 9 (9, 9, 12, 12) dcs

Row 3: Ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, 3dc in next st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next dc. Rep from * across. — 12 (12, 12, 15, 15) dcs

Row 4: Rep row 2. Fasten off. 

Upper Right Front:

Row 1: Join with slst in first foundation oval from set up row opposite side of back. Ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same sp, 3dc in ea of next 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) foundation ovals, leaving remaining sts unworked. — 9 (9, 9, 12, 12) dcs

Row 2: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next dc. Rep from * across. — 9 (9, 9, 12, 12) dcs

Row 3: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next dc. Rep from * across, 3dc in last dc. — 12 (12, 12, 15, 15) dcs

Row 4: Rep row 2. Do not fasten off.

Joining Upper Fronts Together:

Row 5: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, (skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st)x3 (3, 3, 4, 4), (ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook)x4 (5, 6, 5, 6), skip next dc, 3dc in next dc, (skip 2dcs, 3dc in next st)x3, (3, 3, 4, 5). — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Row 6: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st. Rep from * across. — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Repeat row 6 until body is 39 (40, 41, 42, 43) in  or 99 (101.6, 104.1, 106.7, 109.2) cm long. Do not fasten off.

Lower Front Hem Edging:

Row 1: Ch1 (does not count as a st), hdc in ea st across. — 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts

Rows 2 – 3: Rep row 1. Fasten off.

Front Side Gussets (make 2):

Row 1: Join with slst at lower corner of front, ch1 (does not count as a st), work 1hdc in ea row-end st of lower hem, and work 2hdc in ea row-end of front body until you are 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) in from top. Leave remaining sts unworked.

Rows 2 – 3: Ch1 (does not count as a st), hdc in ea st across. Fasten off. 

Rep on opposite side of front for second front gusset. Fasten off.

Sew left front and back gussets together, leaving 10 in (25.4cm) open at lower edge for side vents. Sew right front and back gussets together, leaving 10 in (25.4cm) open at lower edge for side vents.

Arm Hole Opening Hem:

Round 1: Join with slst in center of seamed gussets, ch1 (does not count as st), work 1hdc in ea row-end st along hdc gusset, and 2hdc in ea row-end along dcs around. Slst to first hdc at beg of round to join. Fasten off. Rep for second armhole opening.

Hood:

Row 1: Join yarn with slst to center front foundation oval. Ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same oval, 3dc in ea oval and 3dc in ea row-end around until you are back at center front foundation oval. — 54 (63, 66, 63, 66) dcs

Note: If the size you are making has an odd number of foundation ovals at center neck edge, you will work first and last repeat of row 1 in same center oval. If the size you are making has an even number of foundation ovals at center neck edge, you will work first and last repeat separately in the two center foundation ovals.

Note: On sizes 38 and 46, you will work your first and last shells in the same center foundation oval at front neck edge.

Row 2: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, *skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st. Rep from * across. — 54 (63, 66, 63, 66) dcs

Rows 3 – 14: Rep row 2.

Hood Crown Shaping:

Row 15: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, (skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st)x7 (8, 9, 8, 9), dc2tog (dc3tog, dc2tog, dc3tog, dc2tog) in center dc of next 2 (3, 2, 3, 2) shells), (skip 2dcs, 3dc in next st)x8 (9, 10, 9, 10). — 16 (18, 20, 18, 20) shells, 1 decrease st

Row 16: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, (skip 2dcs, 3dc in next st)x6 (7, 8, 7, 8), dc3tog over next shell, decrease st and shell, (skip 2dcs, 3dc in next st)x7 (8, 9, 8, 9). — 14 (16, 18, 16, 18) shells, 1 decrease st

Row 17: Slst into 2nd dc, ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, (skip 2 dcs, 3dc in next st)x5 (6, 7, 6, 7), dc3tog over next (shell, decrease st, and shell), [skip 2 dcs, (2dc, slst to adjacent shell’s center dc, 1dc) in next dc)x6 (7, 8, 7, 8)]. Do not fasten off. — 12 (14, 16, 14, 16) shells, 1 decrease st  

Hood Edging:

Round 1: Ch1, working along perimeter of hood opening, work 2hdc in ea row-end around, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. 

Belt:

Row 1: Ch4, 3dc in 4th ch from hook. 

Row 2: Slst into space between 2nd and 3rd sts of prev row, ch3 (counts as dc), 3dc in same sp.

Rep row 2 until belt is twice the length of waist circumference, or to you style preference. After last row, slst into space between 2nd and 3rd sts of prev row before fastening off.

Finishing:

Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
