Four NEW Colors of Be So Easy Yarn

Four NEW Colors of Be So Easy Yarn

Be So Easy Yarn now comes in 29 gorgeous colors! The new colors are Dark Sage Green, Gingerbread, Ocean Teal and Mellow Yellow. These are fantastic neutrals that complement the rest of the color collection beautifully.

Dark Sage is deeper in tone than Sage Green and absolutely gorgeous together as a complementary pair. Gingerbread is a reddish, medium brown. Ocean Teal is deeper in tone than Teal and absolutely gorgeous together as a complementary pair. It is a rich, deep blue-green that is a little more blue than green. And Mellow Yellow is a soft, warm, buttery yellow. Again, pairs well as a contrast to many of the brighter colors. All four new colors are gorgeous on their own, too.

Working with bulky weight yarns has so many benefits. As a beginner it is much easier to grasp new techniques with thicker yarn and larger tools. And because the projects work up quickly, the instant gratification is a wonderful reward for beginners as well. I personally love the texture of larger scale projects like afghans and blankets. And let’s not forget the warmth factor! Smaller projects can be whipped up in a couple hours or less, while the larger projects take more time but are so worth the efforts for ultimate coziness and warmth.

You may be wondering what is milk cotton yarn? Milk cotton yarn is a bio-synthetic yarn made by dehydrating and skimming milk, then extracting the proteins. The proteins can then be liquidized and spun. To stabilize and make the fiber more durable, there is an additional tanning step with aluminum salts and acrylonitrile. This additional step provides a matte, cotton-like texture and tensility.

It is matte, lofty and soft, which are generally properties of natural fibers but with benefits of synthetics. It produces a strong fiber that is eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and feels great next to the skin. It is wonderful for babies, children and sensitive skin. It is also antibacterial and anti-fungal because amino acids are present in the fiber.

Yarn fibers are usually categorized as either animal, plant or synthetic (man made). Synthetic yarns can be further broken down into petroleum based (e.g. nylon, acrylics) or bio-synthetics. Milk cotton yarn is a bio-synthetic and has been around since the 1930s!
