Pantone Announces the 2022 Color of the Year Very Peri

Pantone Announces the 2022 Color of the Year Very Peri

Yellow is the true complement of violet and blue-violet, so shades of lemon, sunflower, mustard and gold contrast with periwinkle beautifully.

Analogous colors are next to each other on the color wheel. Periwinkle being a blue-violet also means it looks pretty with some shades of blue and some shades of violet as well.

The blue side of periwinkle expands your options for playing with classic color complements, because orange is blue’s true complement on the color wheel. Soft periwinkle and vivid orange are a dynamic duo. Contrast in intensity is the key to making this work.

Oh, I am so doomed for clothes next year! I am an autumn, copper red hair, brown eyes and pale neutral skin. I look horrid in these shades. Hopefully there will be some other colors that come in that will be more flattering on me. Having gone from an 18W to a size 10 in the last year and a half, I am in need of clothes. I don’t even want pants in these colors, knowing that it will be hard to find things that go with them in my color range. Some people think periwinkle is universal. They haven’t met me!

I do want to thank you for that gorgeous gingerbread color and so many more of the lovely warm colors that I glow in. I am so tempted by so many colors, I keep looking for a perfect pattern for them for here in hot Georgia, USA. Probably a top of some kind for summer that won’t attract my cats’ hooks and teeth too much!

Oh, I am such a problem child!!

Thanks for your beautiful colors and projects!

My yarns come in a huge variety of colors to appeal to all types of color preferences. If you like warm shades, like gingerbread in Be So Easy Yarn, I have plenty to choose from in all of my yarns as well.
