My friend Vickie Howell achieved an incredibly awesome goal for her new venture, The Knit Show, this month. As I heard the announcement and saw the adorable new logo, I was inspired by her palette and pulled 4 colors of Be So Tender Yarn together last week. I admired the 4 balls of yarn together for a few days before deciding what to make with them. I wanted to be efficient with the use of all the yarn, and wanted to really accentuate colorwork as well. Mini motifs with 2 colors per motif and assorting the placement seemed like a good idea. But I also wanted to appeal to beginner crocheters as well, so the motif is one of the simplest I could think of: grannies! The majority of the concentration involved in this project is keeping track of the color sequence. There is a specific 8 square color sequence for the 4 colors. I think that it is very appealing to the eye and less busy, when you can create a pattern from the colorwork as well.

What you will need:
4 balls of Be So Tender Yarn; 100% organic cotton yarn with low impact dyes; #4 medium worsted weight thick & thin texture; 3.5oz (100g) per 140 yds
Color A: Cloud (1 ball)
Color B: Blush (1 ball)
Color C: Seafoam (1 ball)
Color D: Mushroom (1 ball)
J/10 (6mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Continue to make motifs and join them as you go with the second motif (1-sided joining) and fourth motif (2 sided joining) until you have joined 68 motifs (4 rows of 17 motifs).

The last 4 motifs are joined on more sides to create a circular tube shape of the fabric. If this technique is too advanced for you, simply sew the two short sides together instead for a simple seam. Or attach buttons to one short side to join it that way instead.

Motif 69 (2-sided joining, with the joins on opposite sides):
Round 1: rep round 1 of first motif.

Round 2: Join with slst to any ch3 sp on first round, ch3 (counts as dc), (2dc in same ch3 sp, ch1, slst in adjacent motif's center ch of ch3 sp, ch1, 3dc) in same ch3 sp. Skip 3 dcs on adjacent motif, slst in space before next dc. In next ch3 sp on working motif, (3dc, ch1, slst in next center ch of ch3 sp on adjacent motif, ch1, 3dc). Skip 3 dcs on working motif. In next ch3 sp on working motif, (3dc, ch1, slst in next center ch of ch3 sp on adjacent motif, ch1, 3dc). Skip 3 dcs on adjacent motif, slst in space before next dc. In next ch3 sp on working motif, (3dc, ch1, slst in next center ch of ch3 sp on adjacent motif, ch1, 3dc). Slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. -- 4 ch3 sps

Slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. -- 4 ch3 sps

Thank you for choosing to knit and crochet Kristin Omdahl patterns!
I know that you have thousands of choices for buying yarn and body care products. I want you to know what makes MY products special, and feel good about shopping the Kristin Omdahl brand.
Kristin Omdahl products have a heart! That’s right, a portion of every sale supports the charity I established: Project Kristin Cares.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, a hugely hidden problem in our society. You, or someone you know, has been affected by it, or is still suffering now. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men have been victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes.
But because it is so rarely discussed, I always felt like I was alone. One of the worst parts for me was that feeling of loneliness and having a dirty secret that had to be hidden.
Through my charity, Project Kristin Cares, we can make a difference in the lives of people who have been affected by domestic violence. I want to share the message that victims are not at fault, not alone and should not be embarrassed to share their stories.
Kristin Omdahl products are beautiful, thoughtful and valuable. But even more importantly, every time you purchase a product from my company, a portion of the sale supports
Project Kristin Cares. Please help me knock out domestic violence, one sale at a time.
xoxo, Kristin
