Tender Queen B Fringe Bag Crochet Pattern

Tender Queen B Fringe Bag Crochet Pattern
by Kristin Omdahl

Decadent, chic and wildly bohemian, this super fun and easy bag pattern is sure to please! Make one for yourself and the fashion divas on your gift list this holiday season.

Begin at the base with narrow rows of single crochet, then wrap the body with rounds of double crochet through the back loop only to make adding the fringe incredibly simple.

Adding a pre-made bag, inside-out, for lining takes all the fuss out of lining a bag. Handles are sewn on with yarn in a couple of minutes.

What you will need:
(3) balls of Be So Tender Yarn, shown in denim
(1) Kristin Omdahl organic cotton drawstring project bag (12" x 12")
(2) wooden purse handles
H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Gauge: 3 sts = 1", but gauge is not critical for this project

Finished size: Bag is 9" high x 12" wide before handles or fringe. The finished bag is 12" wide x 14" tall

Row 1: Ch4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across, turn. -- 3 sts

Row 2: ch1, sc in ea sc across, turn. -- 3 sts

Rows 3 - 33: rep row 2

Round 1: ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc-tbl in ea of next 2 sts, working along end of rows, 1dc in ea of the 33 end of rows, working along beg ch of base row 1, 1dc in ea of next 3 cos, working along end of rows, 1dc in ea of the 33 end of rows, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. -- 72 dcs

Round 2: ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc-tbl in ea st around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. -- 72 dcs

Rounds 3 - 15: rep row 2.

Rounds 16: slst in back loop of ea st around.

Rounds 17 - 18: rep row 16. Fasten off.

Cut fringe pieces 8" long. Using 2 strands of fringe at a time, tie them to each free loop around on the following rounds of the bag: rounds 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.

Turn lining bag inside out (so the logo is on the inside and the exposed seams are on the outside). Cut the drawstring ties and remove them from the bag's flaps. Turn the flaps outward to be folded against the side with the exposed seams.

Insert the lining bag inside the crochet bag. It should line up 1/2" below the top edge of the crochet bag. Pin in place. With needle and thread, sew in place.

Thank you for choosing to knit and crochet Kristin Omdahl patterns!

I know that you have thousands of choices for buying yarn and body care products. I want you to know what makes MY products special, and feel good about shopping the Kristin Omdahl brand.

Kristin Omdahl products have a heart! That’s right, a portion of every sale supports the charity I established: Project Kristin Cares.

I am a survivor of domestic violence, a hugely hidden problem in our society. You, or someone you know, has been affected by it, or is still suffering now. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men have been victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes.

But because it is so rarely discussed, I always felt like I was alone. One of the worst parts for me was that feeling of loneliness and having a dirty secret that had to be hidden.

Through my charity, Project Kristin Cares, we can make a difference in the lives of people who have been affected by domestic violence. I want to share the message that victims are not at fault, not alone and should not be embarrassed to share their stories.

Kristin Omdahl products are beautiful, thoughtful and valuable. But even more importantly, every time you purchase a product from my company, a portion of the sale supports

Project Kristin Cares. Please help me knock out domestic violence, one sale at a time.

xoxo, Kristin
